This Independence Day, thousands of Filipinos didn’t just celebrate
freedom—they fought for their future. On June 12, 2025, Kalayaan Job Fairs held
across 28 SM malls nationwide became a powerful symbol of economic hope and
resilience, as over 18,000 job seekers showed up armed with resumes,
determination, and dreams.

This Independence Day, freedom came with a job offer.
With a record-breaking 18,065 total applicants and a growing number of
partner companies answering the call for accessible employment, the 2025
Kalayaan Job Fairs saw a 12% growth in mall participation and continued to
break barriers for inclusive hiring—from fresh graduates to returning Overseas
Filipino Workers.

Organized by SM Supermalls in partnership with the Department of Labor
and Employment, the nationwide hiring event hit impressive strides with 1,034
participating employers—a strong 11% increase from last year. More than 2,300
jobseekers were hired on the spot, instantly changing the course of their lives
in one life-defining mall visit.

From SM Mall of Asia to SM City General Santos, 28 malls across the country hosted the job fairs, ensuring every region had access to local and international employment options.
“Kalayaan is not just about
history; it’s about rewriting your story. Every Curriculum Vitae dropped and
every hand shaken at this job fair was a bold declaration of hope,” said SM
Supermalls President Steven Tan.

The Kalayaan Job Fair isn’t just a one-day wonder—it’s part of a larger mission. SM Supermalls continues to host monthly job fairs across its malls, in partnership with Department of Labor and Employment and various government agencies, ensuring consistent platforms for meaningful employment.
