More than 7,000 Voters Registered at SM City Mindpro

It was on August 27 of this year when SM Supermalls officially teamed up with COMELEC to provide voters with more registration venues at SM malls nationwide. This gives the public a safer, more convenient option amidst the prevailing COVID-19 health crisis.

 

SM City Mindpro’s satellite voters’ registration started last September 1 and will end on September 15, 2021. Located at the Level 2 across The SM Store, it assisted more than 7,000 registrants from the 98 barangays of the city. In a daily basis, an average of more than 500 qualified voters from District 1 and 2 queued up and excited to register to make their vote counts this coming 2022 local and national elections.

 

“As we end the registration today at the mall, we are glad that we were able to help COMELEC and residents of Zamboanga through the satellite registration center at SM. We are one with the government in providing accessible and safe venues during these times. We encourage those who are qualified voters to still register at COMELEC’s approved satellite registration centers in the city before the voter’s registration ends on September 30”, said SM City Mindpro’s Assistant Mall Manager Aileen Ann Enriquez.

 

To note, there are 67 SM Supermalls participating in the voter’s registration across the country. This aims to help ease and unburden voter registration traffic in barangays, providing the public a more convenient, faster, and safer way to avail of your right to vote.

COMELEC Voter Registration at SM Supermalls

            The Commission on Elections and SM Supermalls recently launched 76 satellite COMELEC Voter Registration centers at the SM Supermalls to provide voters with more registration venues.

            SM City Mindpro’s COMELEC Satellite Registration Center will commence on September 1 until September 15 which will give the public a safer, more convenient option amidst the prevailing COVID-19 health crisis.

Districts 1 and 2 Election Officers Atty. Stephen Roy Cañete and Atty. Jan Christian Babiera were happy with this partnership and they encouraged fellow Zamboangueños to register from 10AM to 7PM on Mondays to Fridays, and 10AM to 5PM during Saturdays at the Level 2 of SM City Mindpro.

COMELEC Zamboanga City is the latest government agency to partner with SM in bringing basic government services closer to the public. Other in-mall government services available in SM City Mindpro include COVID-19 vaccination and the National ID registration.

            SM Supermalls is providing free space and waived charges to essential conveniences so they can efficiently operate the registration centers.
