Finished Watching Inside Out 2? Here’s Where to Go at SM Supermalls Based on How You Feel

Inside Out fans, rejoice! The much-awaited sequel and one of the highly anticipated movies of 2024 has finally hit theaters this month.

When Inside Out was released nine years ago in 2015, we followed young Riley Andersen and her five personified emotions: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear. They played pivotal roles in shaping her life. In Inside Out 2, we reunite with the gang as they navigate the tumultuous time of being a teenager, with new emotions joining the mix and familiar ones taking on surprising roles.

Like the first movie, Inside Out 2 is another perfect depiction of the inner workings of our minds. It's fascinating to once again see, through fun and quirky animation, how our collective experiences shape our sense of self—much like Riley's journey. These concepts are often abstract and difficult to visualize, but Inside Out 2 brings them to life, illustrating how our minds process daily experiences.

Inside Out 2 nails anxiety! Pixar makes this big feeling relatable, showing how it messes with your life and friends. But it can also help! The movie even shows how to calm down during a panic attack.

But before you head to SM Cinema to buy your Inside Out 2 tickets, here are the perfect spots at SM Supermalls to visit depending on the emotions you might feel.

If you’re feeling joy and happiness

Celebrate with a feast! SM Supermalls offers countless dining options to satisfy every craving. Whether you're looking for globally renowned restaurants or the comforting favorites of the SM Foodcourt or Food Halls, your happiness is sure to multiply as you embark on a delicious food adventure here at SM.

If you’re feeling sad or disgusted

There are hundreds of ways to cheer up—like the power of retail therapy! According to a Forbes article, spending makes us feel good and gives us a sense of well-being, which is why hitting the mall to buy essential stuff (or even the extra luxurious ones) can help turn a sad day around.

Similarly, there are days when we don’t feel good about ourselves. Whether it’s a pesky pimple affecting our confidence or clothes that don’t quite fit right, retail therapy can help. It releases dopamine, the brain's feel-good chemical. Purchasing your beauty holy grails at Watsons can encourage you to step-up your skincare routines. Finding well-fitting clothes at The SM Store can also make you feel more comfortable and confident in your appearance.

For a healthy retail therapy session, set a budget, be mindful of your spending, and shop with a purpose to avoid impulse buys.

If you’re feeling angry

Head over to Timezone, World of Fun, or SM Game Park! Throw some hoops, strike down some pins, race like a pro, or sing your heart out. Timezone and WOF are one-stop show for fun and games that is not only perfect for celebrations but for blowing off steam too.

If you’re feeling anxious

It’s time to relax and unwind. Whether you get a facial, a mani-pedi, or a full body massage, SM Supermalls have wellness spaces where you can shut off your mind and enjoy the pampering session you deserve.

If you’re feeling embarrassed or envious

Confessed to a crush and it turned out differently than what you expected? Sent an email to your boss that should have been sent to your office BFF instead? For these moments na gusto mo na lang kainin ng lupa, SM Cinemas are the perfect place to be.

Or when you’re envious of others, watching that IMAX movie and immersing yourself in its storyline can help you detach from what you’re feeling and put yourself in others' shoes, even for a little while.

If you’re feeling bored and don’t know what to do

Take a walk at SM Mall of Asia’s Sky Garden or at SM City Caloocan’s indoor Sky Plaza. These serene spots are perfect for a leisurely stroll to clear your mind.

And if you’re feeling afraid

It's time to do something exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping, like going on rides at Skyranch! These thrilling attractions will give you the jolt of courage you need. Sometimes, facing your fears head-on is the best way to overcome them.

The key takeaway from Inside Out 2 is the importance of acknowledging that we are the sum of all our parts. Our sense of self is shaped by both happy and difficult memories. Embracing our entire range of experiences helps us build a stronger, more holistic identity, allowing us to learn from mistakes and celebrate our successes. Inside Out 2 teaches us that with deeper self-acceptance and understanding, we can face life with fewer regrets.

Inside Out 2 is a movie everyone can relate to. It will open your eyes to the wonders of embracing all your emotions, as they are what make us human. It’s a good movie to watch even when alone, but it’s an entirely different experience when you watch it together with your friends or family! You can even host a private viewing party with your loved ones at SM Cinemas. Now, you and your loved ones can laugh or cry together as you follow Team Riley’s journey from start to finish.

And no matter what you’re feeling, SM Supermalls will always welcome you with a wide range of facilities and activities to choose from! And if you’re on your way to watching Inside Out 2, don’t forget the Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to flicks and chill at the SM Cinema.

Revolutionary Fashion at SM Mall of Asia: TernoCon 2024 Exhibits Legendary Work by Jojie Lloren, Cary Santiago, Jaggy Glarino

Following TernoCon: Kasarinlan, Kultura, Kasuotan, twenty-four ensembles fresh off the runway are on display at SM Mall of Asia’s Main Atrium until June 23. Designed and masterfully tailored by legendary fashion icons Jojie Lloren, Cary Santiago, and Jaggy Glarino, the ternos on display promote Filipino pride, art, and culture in honor of the 126th Philippine Independence Day. From romantic ternos inspired by Filipino indigenous wear to bold interpretations of our national icons, the TernoCon KKK exhibit takes you on a journey through revitalized Filipino fashion unlike any other.

Catch the TernoCon: Kasarinlan, Kultura, Kasuotan exhibit at SM Mall of Asia’s Main Atrium until June 23!

TernoCon KKK, presented by Bench lifestyle + clothing, SM Supermalls, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), was a fashion showcase held at SM Mall of Asia’s Museo del Galeón last June 10. The three trailblazing designers – Jojie Lloren, Cary Santiago, and Jaggy Glarino – each represented the islands of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, respectively.

Jaggy Glarino’s “Lemlunay” collection is inspired by the rich and diverse heritage of Mindanao, and features ternos masterfully adorned with indigenous weaves, solihiya, and headpieces of the region.

Don’t miss out on “Ubra” by Jaggy Glarino, a terno mini dress with sculptural Tboli beaded accents.

On exhibit are selected ensembles from the fashion show. Avant-garde designer Jaggy Glarino’s exhibit “Lemlunay” is inspired by the rich heritage of Mindanao. His pieces feature indigenous weaves and headpieces paired with the elegant silhouettes of the traditional terno.

In “A Lullaby for My Mother”, Jojie Lloren presents a poignant collection of minimalist and exquisitely-constructed ternos that pay tribute to his beloved mother and the Philippine motherland.

Catch Lloren’s “Fight and Surrender” – a terno-sleeved top and skirt made of muslin – at SM Mall of Asia’s Main Atrium until June 23.

Jojie Lloren’s collection titled “A Lullaby for My Mother” visually narrates a series of emotional states ranging from “Denial” to “Fight and Surrender” to “Bliss” through elegant ternos and headpieces.

Cary Santiago’s “Ikonograpiya” is a collection of bold interpretations of our nation’s most prominent icons. From the bahay kubo to the jeepney, the Cebu-based couturier manipulates fabric into intricate masterpieces of showcasing Filipino culture.

Cebu-based couturier Cary Santiago’s collection “Ikonograpiya” draws inspiration from the colors of the Philippine flag, featuring monochromatic pieces that each embody an iconic Filipino symbol.

Don’t miss out on a truly elevated cultural experience! See the works up close to fully marvel at the intricate details that go into revolutionary fashion. The exhibit remains at SM Mall of Asia’s Main Atrium (across Bench and The French Baker) until June 23, Sunday.

Upon closer look of Cary Santiago’s jeepney-inspired terno gown, miniature horses stand on the dashboard.

SM Prime bolsters MSME growth and boom in the Philippines

SM Supermalls continues its commitment to empower and enrich the growth of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by building a thriving ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation.

“MSMEs are our local partners in generating value across all the communities we operate in,” said Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls. “With 99.59% of the local economy composed of MSMEs, the persistence and vibrancy of local trade as well as the generation of jobs on the micro, small, and medium scale hinges on their success.”

In line with this, SM Supermalls continues to implement various programs and plan opportunities for MSMEs to grow their customer base through the vast network of SM malls in the country. With 67% of its tenants being MSMEs, these programs empower entrepreneurs by providing them with accessible and affordable prime retail spaces in SM’s high-foot traffic malls, as well as helpful packages to support their growth.

Marketplace for Success

Various local products sold by SM for MSMEs’ purveyors

“Because SM has been an established brand for over three decades, perhaps people have forgotten that we started out as a small enterprise ourselves,” said Tan. “Our own experience emphasizes the value in supporting our MSMEs and has given us valuable insight we can use to further support this crucial sector in line with the government’s efforts.”

Last May, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) introduced the fourth iteration of the national MSME Development Plan geared to reduce operational costs and eliminate barriers for new entrepreneurs. Through the plan’s implementation, the DTI hopes to grow the number of registered MSMEs, improve their contribution to the larger local economy, and support continual job creation.

The “SM for MSMEs” program supports budding entrepreneurs in overcoming three key challenges they usually face–access to a diverse group of customers, the high cost of traditional operational requirements like rent, and competition with established brands for attention and patronage. Serving as a marketplace for entrepreneurs facing difficulties finding the right venue and market, SM aims to be the incubator of the country’s next big brands.

SM for MSMEs offer scalable packages to businesses in the communities around SM malls–for as low as 500 pesos per day, small scale businesses can rent a booth in SM’s high-foot traffic venues during regular exhibits and special events. The program currently has 633 purveyors nationwide, providing an affordable and strategic platform for entrepreneurs to sell their products and reach the right market.

Other Programs of SM for MSMEs

StartUp Market Purveyors, Arctic Balm and South Sea Gems, at SM City North Edsa

SM initiated its “StartUp Package” in 2021 to assist MSMEs in opening their first brick-and-mortar stores. The package provides start-up-friendly rental rates within SM malls along with the free usage of kiosks and carts. Marketing assistance is also provided through free exposure in SM online assets and ad spaces within the malls with valuable mentorship from its experts on operations and marketing. SM also offers financial assistance with BDO network bank. This program is currently running across five malls with 30 purveyors as of writing. Earlier this year, 44 StartUp Market purveyors successfully transitioned to SM tenants.

Supporting Farmers in our Rural Communities

The SM Sunday Market currently runs in 23 SM malls

On top of these, SM helps support rural communities through opportunities for fair trade that also preserve its cultural heritage. The SM Sunday Market bazaar has been running since last year across 23 active and participating SM malls. Among its 135 purveyors are graduates of SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan program farmers who are local food and produce suppliers.

“Throughout SM’s decades of growth, we are familiar with the work and effort it takes to build a business from the ground up. Thus, with these programs SM aims to be a catalyst for the success of local MSMEs through support and tailored offers that further foster economic vitality and social wellbeing across all communities we operate in,” said Tan. “Because of the success we’ve been met with, not just on our own operations but with the programs and efforts we have initiated, we continue to pay it forward by supporting this crucial, underserved sector in the local economy.” (SM Supermalls)
