SM City Mindpro and Bureau of Fire Protection Hold Simultaneous Nationwide Fire Drill

In line with the Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) commitment to strengthening fire safety preparedness, SM City Mindpro, in partnership with BFP – Zamboanga City Fire District, successfully conducted a Simultaneous Nationwide Fire Drill today, March 4. This initiative is part of the nationwide effort to enhance emergency response and public awareness on fire prevention.

The drill commenced with a simulated earthquake and fire scenario, activating the mall’s emergency alarm system and prompting the immediate evacuation of tenants and employees. Under the guidance of the mall’s Emergency Response Team and BFP personnel, participants swiftly proceeded to designated safety zones, demonstrating efficiency in fire emergency protocols.

Zamboanga City Fire District officials supervised the drill, assessing response time, coordination, and adherence to safety procedures. The drill started at exactly 8:00AM and ended at 8:07AM.

SM City Mindpro’s Mall Manager, Aileen Ann Villa-Enriquez, emphasized the importance of proactive fire safety measures, stating, “Our collaboration with BFP underscores our commitment to ensuring the safety of our shoppers, tenants, and employees. Conducting regular fire and earthquake drills helps us remain prepared and responsive in emergency situations.”

Zamboanga City Fire District commended SM City Mindpro for its continuous efforts in promoting fire safety awareness and maintaining high standards of emergency preparedness.

The Simultaneous Nationwide Fire Drill aligns with SM Supermalls’ commitment to safety and disaster resilience, reinforcing its role as a responsible community partner in emergency preparedness.
