SM City Zamboanga Leads Lifesaving Blood Donation Drive

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines, 25 August 2026 – In a powerful display of community solidarity and social responsibility, SM City Zamboanga successfully conducted a Bloodletting Activity on August 25, bringing together volunteers, partners, and advocates in a collective effort to help address the growing demand for blood supplies amid the increasing number of dengue cases in Zamboanga City.

The lifesaving initiative was held in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross - Zamboanga City Chapter, alongside the Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Wing - Western Mindanao (TOW-WESTMIN), Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), and the City Health Office (CHO). The event gathered uniformed personnel, employees, tenants, and members of the community who generously rolled up their sleeves to give the gift of life through blood donation.

As dengue cases continue to rise in the city, the need for readily available blood units has become increasingly critical, making every donation a vital resource in helping save lives and strengthen the local healthcare system's response.

“At SM City Zamboanga, we believe that caring for the community goes beyond providing a place to shop and gather. Through initiatives like this bloodletting activity, we create opportunities for individuals to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” said Aileen Ann Villa-Enriquez, SM City Zamboanga Mall Manager.

The activity underscored the importance of volunteerism and collective action, demonstrating how partnerships among government agencies, healthcare institutions, and private organizations can create a lasting impact. The Philippine Red Cross ensured the safe and efficient collection of blood donations, while partner agencies lent their support to encourage greater community participation.

As SM City Zamboanga remains committed to championing programs that promote health, wellness, and community resilience, the mall encourages the public to continue supporting blood donation campaigns and other initiatives that help build a healthier and stronger city for all.

SM Foundation and SM City Mindpro Champion Lifesaving Mission Through Blood Donation Drive

In observance of Blood Donor’s Month, SM Foundation and SM City Mindpro, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross Zamboanga City Chapter, Western Mindanao Command, Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Wing Western Mindanao, and the 530th Air Brigade Group, launched a two-day blood donation campaign on July 21-22, 2025 at the Cinema Lobby, Level 4 of the mall.

This initiative reflects SM’s unwavering commitment to nation-building through its Health and Wellness advocacy, aiming to help ensure an adequate and accessible blood supply in the city. By working closely with key military units and local health organizations, the campaign is geared towards saving lives while fostering a spirit of volunteerism and civic responsibility among Zamboangueños.

The bloodletting activity brings together SM workforce, affiliate and tenant employees, and uniformed personnel in a unified cause — to give the gift of life through voluntary blood donation. It also serves as a timely celebration of the National Blood Donor’s Month, honoring the silent heroes whose donations are critical to emergency care, surgeries, and treatment of diseases.

“We are grateful for the strong collaboration with our partners in health and public service. Through this drive, we are not only collecting blood — we are also cultivating compassion and community resilience,” said Aileen Ann Villa-Enriquez, SM City Mindpro Mall Manager.

SM Foundation, the social good arm of SM, continues to roll out blood donation drives across its malls nationwide as part of its corporate social responsibility thrusts.

Philippine Navy Celebrates 127th Anniversary with Bloodletting Drive and Static Display at SM City Mindpro

In celebration of the 127th Anniversary of the Philippine Navy, a bloodletting activity and static display were held at SM City Mindpro, showcasing the valor and service of our modern-day heroes while promoting life-saving efforts for the community.

The event brought together members of the Philippine Navy, mallgoers, and civic-minded individuals who participated in the blood donation drive, supporting the Armed Forces of the Philippines' commitment to humanitarian assistance and community engagement. In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, the activity aimed to boost the nation’s blood reserves and promote the importance of voluntary blood donation.

In addition to the bloodletting drive, a static and kinetic display featuring naval assets, equipment, and audio-visual presentation was mounted at the Level 4 event area of the mall. Shoppers and visitors were given the opportunity to engage with Navy personnel, learn about their missions, and gain a deeper appreciation for the Navy’s role in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests.

SM City Mindpro proudly supports the Armed Forces and extends its space as a platform to honor their legacy and bring them closer to the public they serve.
