ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines, 23^rd June 2026 – Every big dream starts with a small step, and for aspiring young performers in Zamboanga City, that journey begins at SM Little Stars 2026.

SM City Zamboanga is once again opening its stage to talented children through the much-awaited SM Little Stars, the country's longest-running and most prestigious kiddie talent search. The competition continues to serve as a platform for young dreamers to showcase their talents, build confidence, and shine before a larger audience.

Open to children aged 4 to 7 years old as of the screening date, SM Little Stars is looking for photogenic, charming, and talented kids who can showcase their skills in singing, dancing, and other special talents.

Aspiring little stars can audition on June 27 and July 4 at the Event Center, Lower Ground Level of SM City Zamboanga, where they will have the opportunity to impress judges and earn a chance to advance to the next stages of the competition.

Communities Unite at R.T. Lim Boulevard for SM-Led Coastal Cleanup Drive

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines, 07 June 2026 — Demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and ocean conservation, SM City Mindpro and SM City Zamboanga successfully led a large-scale Coastal Cleanup Drive on June 7 along R.T. Lim Boulevard in celebration of World Oceans Day, bringing together communities, government agencies, academic institutions, and environmental advocates in a united effort to protect the city's coastal ecosystem.

A total of 925 volunteers participated in the activity, collecting 988.5 kilograms of waste from the shoreline. The initiative highlighted the power of collective action in addressing marine pollution and preserving the health of local waterways.

The cleanup was conducted in partnership with the City Government of Zamboanga and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – Zamboanga City, reinforcing a shared vision of creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable communities.

The coastal cleanup drew enthusiastic participation from volunteers representing government offices, educational institutions, civic groups, uniformed personnel, and private organizations. United by a common goal of environmental protection, participants worked hand in hand to help preserve the city's coastline, showcasing the spirit of volunteerism and collective responsibility in caring for the oceans and the environment.

The event commenced with a brief orientation emphasizing proper waste segregation, volunteer safety, and the importance of protecting marine environments. Participants then spread across designated cleanup zones, collecting plastic waste, discarded packaging materials, bottles, fishing debris, and other pollutants that threaten marine biodiversity and coastal communities.

“This initiative reflects the bayanihan spirit that unites our communities in caring for the environment,” said Aileen Ann Villa-Enriquez. “By working together, we not only clean our coastlines but also raise awareness about the critical role each individual plays in protecting our oceans for future generations.”

The Coastal Cleanup Drive forms part of the SM Green Movement, SM Supermalls' long-term sustainability platform that encourages environmental responsibility through programs focused on waste management, climate action, resource conservation, and community engagement.

Honesty Beyond Duty: SM City Zamboanga Security Personnel Return ₱500,000

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines, 16 April 2026 — A remarkable act of honesty and integrity took center stage at SM City Zamboanga as two security personnel demonstrated exemplary character by returning a lost cash amounting to ₱500,000 to its rightful owner on March 28 around 3PM.

The recovered item was a light brown tote bag containing bundles of cash—three bundles of one-thousand-peso bills (₱1,000.00) and four bundles of five-hundred-peso bills (₱500.00)—with a total value of five hundred thousand pesos (₱500,000.00). The item was discovered and immediately turned over to the Customer Relations Services (CRS) office by Lady Guard Ena Wahing and Security Officer Erland Solamillo of Pichel Security Agency Inc. 

Displaying presence of mind and unwavering integrity, Wahing and Solamillo followed proper protocols to ensure the safe handling and documentation of the recovered item. Their swift and responsible action enabled the mall’s CRS team to promptly identify and coordinate with the rightful owner, leading to the successful return of the full amount.

The incident not only highlights the vigilance of SM City Zamboanga’s security personnel but also reinforces the mall’s strong culture of honesty, accountability, and service excellence. Beyond ensuring safety and order, SM’s frontliners continue to embody values that build trust and confidence among shoppers and the community.
